Parkins’ illustrations throughout add so much I don’t think anyone retells the myths as well as Geraldine McCaughrean does these days.

I read this version to my children, agesand had a difficult time choosing which meaty topics to address. Until then, as usual, I geraldune below my reading level just to “get my feet wet,” as they say.
