Something fishy

It would have killed her. She disregards her family and manages to stay in Ingo for over 24 hours, not caring about how her mother would feel if she were to find Sapphire gone. I lean more on the realistic side of life and struggle with the fantasy genre.

Watch a video trailer for Ingo Requires Flash Player. He’s just an amazing character, almost more so than Sapphy herself. I’m not exactly sure how this story can stretch on for the four or five more books I see are out, and honestly this one wrapped up nicely enough to be a stand alone if accepting a few stray threads for those who don’t wish to continue.

I never hhelen like she genuinely struggled with doubt that he was still alive, or felt true grief for his absence, or even anger at him for leaving them.

Searching for him at the cove, Sapphy hears a beautiful voice singing a familiar song that her father had sung to her in the past. Start reading Ingo on your Kindle in under a minute.

He knows the sea too well. The problem is that Ingo also wants to be an adventure book about exciting fun times under the ocean, and you really hhelen have those themes co-exist in one novel. There are some really lovely moments, like Sapphire mentally connecting to a dolphin while riding it, or a conversation her brother Conor has with honeybees. When Sapphire and Conor’s dad mysteriously disappears, most people believe he’s dead.

Mashed in with that typical coming-of-age fare is an attempt at a fantasy plot: The Ingo Chronicles is a collection of books based on the adventures in the underwater world, Ingo written by Heelen Dunmore.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this book to my friends, despite the mermaids, and dolphins not to forget – who were awesome. In the last scene Sapphire works in her father’s garden, with her neighbour’s dog, Sadie, staying with her on trial, lying beside her. I know I know.
