The concept was intriguing, but the long middle portion detailing the Gondorian spy’s adventures in Umbar could’ve easily been tied to the main plot a lot more. However there was no chance of a commercial English translation, the book effectively being a derivative of Tolkien’s LoTR, due to potential legal issues with Tolkien Estate.

Ringberaer book could’ve used a proper editor, but the first thing that would’ve gone would have been the beginning that ties the book with LOTR. I have a lot of thinkful thoughts about the racial representations, and history being written by the victors, and resistance movements, but I think I will handwave at them for now. I would do it for free of course, because I love the book, but in my capacity as a professional illustrator I can work with you to come up with something closer to what you see in your heads.
The remainder of the novel is a confusing account of their efforts to fulfill the mission divided into four parts that focus on various aspects of the quest.
Then the traditionalist forces of the west, ,irill by Gandalf, pushed Gondor and Mordor into war. Unfortunately, this one really doesn’t deliver. It doesn’t use the same characters nor the same names. The story takes place of a wide range of Middle Earth territory, exploring lands and peoples that Tolkien paid little to no attention to in the original trilogy.
Parts are a bit difficult to follow – when the various secret services are battling it out in Umbar, I found it somewhat difficult to work out who was on which side.
