You may ask why I don’t like the handsome tracker who is willing to give his life for Alina, who bleeds when you cut her and tries to protect her at any cost. A thief with a gift for leigj escapes.
I don’t get the title, but it sounds cool. Mal, cause I seriously hate that asshole 3. So let’s discuss the real trouble here: I feel like I should note that I read this series on audible. And now I’ll continu I don’t know how Leigh does it but she makes you feel like you love the Darkling and then later you hate him and later strom love him again.
Plus he just killed me!
I’m fickle like that. Entire plot points could have been skipped. I usually approach the sequels to three star reads with some trepidation but I confess that my hopes were high for this one.
And was the Darkling right about that Chinese finger box between Mal and Alina? There was some much needed development, an introduction to some new favorites, and the beginnings of an alliance among them.

I can’t express how much I love her books right now and I’m really trying my hardest not to give any spoilers so you should really give me props. But then she discovered her powers, met The Darkling and just came into her own. I definitely struggled with the beginning of this book, but I feel it is a reflection of myself instead of the quality of the book.
In so many series the second book is a huge let-down. How am I meant to make it a whole year with that hanging over my head?! I want to move to this world and be a Grisha. Knives aren’t just for cutting cucumber sandwiches, you know.
I liked you in Shadow and Bonebut I’m starting to think I’m outgrowing my mildly inappropriate swooning of you. The stomr struck me suddenly. Grisha trilogy Book 1. Yup, I’m still insanely in love with the Darkling. Alina Starkov’s power has grown, but not without a price.
And if you ask me, he does get his shot at redemption in the future. It turns out badrugo Alina has had a Grisha power hidden deep inside her entire life, but it has finally been released to save herself and Mal.
This book takes us into barvugo darker place with the heroine, where the more she gets of what she needs as Grisha magicianthe less she has of what she wants.
