Kurland does such a good job giving these medieval time travelers such believable ways to make money in the future! Madelyn has baggage but so does Patrick. They both had issues, passion and strength of character. Changing fields, or even becoming a less-than-passive homemaker, would have rung true, but the clinging vine tendency simply was not realistic. The two main characters had great chemistry right from the start and I really liked Patrick, the Scottish Highland time traveller. I felt the book dragged quite a bit to do so much inner dialog in the beginning and end.

I plan to read more from this author for this reason alone.

Madelyn’s fiance, who like kudland is a lawyer and happens to work for the same law firm, up and tells her that he is calling off their wedding not long before the happy event is suppose to occur. Kurland has earned her large following for very good reason.
